A native of Atlanta, having relocated to (and fallen in love with) New Orleans, Stacie unquestionably found her fitness stride in the Crescent City! What started as doctor’s advice blossomed into a passionate foray into diet and exercise. Body weight exercises at home quickly led to more comprehensive training at GFIT, but an introductory Pilates class solidified Stacie’s direction for the foreseeable future. She was enthralled. Unfortunately, not long after her 100th class, Stacie endured an intense motor vehicle accident that very nearly claimed her life. Doctors would later say that her survival was attributed to her relatively newfound love for fitness – her body would not have tolerated the trauma otherwise.
As soon as recovery would allow, Stacie returned to the Reformer. The journey was not over, with subsequent surgeries looming on the horizon. Discussion with the doctors revealed a new concept: prehabing. By training as much as her body could tolerate, leading up to surgery, Stacie could shorten the subsequent recovery time simply through having pre-strengthened her body. Experiencing these results herself, Stacie was anxious to return once again to the Reformer, but this time with intent to share the results with others, aiding them in their journey, as was the original intent of Joseph Pilates.
Whether you are looking for a tremendous mind-body workout to enhance your strength and flexibility, or recovering from an injury, Stacie would love the opportunity to develop a tailored Pilates Reformer regime to suit your needs. She offers beginner classes at very competitive rates for 1 on 1 sessions, thus also relieving some of the barrier to entry that accompanies learning new routines in front of an entire class, particularly when recovering from an injury.
